my exp with clutched was just the oposite. It was more like trying to drive without using the clutch. It sounds more like a trnny problem to me but im no mechanic, good luck
Bike is dropping out of gear. Also shifting up from first sometimes is also a problem.
I have experienced misshifts to second gear with a primary chain that is too tight. It did not drop out of gear though. If you just engaged the gear, then it drops out by hitting a bump or something like that then it might be worn dog teeth or a damaged shifter. I also am not a transmission expert so others with more experience can chime in. I would check the basics though.
First, I would check the primary chain tension. If it is too tight, then you will hear it whining while you are riding. It will sound very similar to a supercharger.
Second, I would check the shifter mechanism to see if maybe you didn't bend anything.
What year is the bike and how many miles are on it?
First thing you need to look at is the shift drum to see if it's going into the detent for the gear your dropping out of, if it is then your problem might be inside on the gear dogs or the shift fork.
