Removing pushrod tubes? 08 nightster

Default Removing pushrod tubes? 08 nightster
Hey guys. So I almost completed powder coating everything on my motor that was chrome except for the pushrod tubes. Basically what I want to know is on a 08 Nightster does the cylinder heads have to come off in order to remove them or can the pushrod tubes colaspse enough to remove them without the heads being yanked? I have a couple of local Harley dealers that I called and 2 of them said the heads have to come off, and the other 2 said they will colaspe enouge on the newer 1200's.. Anyone try this first hand? Thanks

Loosen the heads. It's alot easier than trying to wiggle em around.

So the head gaskets will be ok to re tighten then?

Yeah, they should be fine. You don't actually need to REMOVE the heads, just loosen em up a bit.
