Hello, as a graduation gift to myself, i am going to purchase a solo seat for my 97 sporty w/ the bigger tank. I cannot afford a $200+ one although. Does anyone have feedback on their solo seat and its comfort for longer cruises? I have a 2 up seat right now, and i never travel with a guest, and my *** falls asleep within 20 miles.
here are some links to ones that i have found......
I've got the HD low profile solo, it's comfortable and I found it on e-bay in new condition for 75 bucks included shipping. The Mustang vintage solo is a nice seat but is more $$. others pic of it in my profile album.

Its odd because some seats are $60-75 shipped, then others are $230+ on ebay. Is there a huge quality / comfort difference for the price? Is it really worth the extra cash?
Does the 97 have the same mounting system as the newer bikes? I got a used nighster solo from the classifieds here for $60 plus shipping. Thre a probable a lot around, here and on ebay. If the later year seats don't work I'd try to find out if any older Sportsters came stock with solos and maybe get a used one cheap. Wanting it cheap and comfortable for a long ride might be hard to come by. I'm not looking to do any long rides on mine.

Its different from the newer bikes (03 and up) i believe.
