I destroyed the chrome with 80-120-300-500 grit sandpaper. Primed, painted, gripped, bolted down, (Anyone wanna gues how many times)????
4!!!
Bolted them on, had to re route the clutch cable. Then it all looked good. NOPE! long story short. Im tired of messin with the stupid and poorly placed wires and cables today. What can I do to clean up the front of my nightster. Mainly brake line, and clutch cable. Im not worried about the throttle wires, they're good.
just noticed it's only your 22nd post so welcome dude. always eye/mock everything up before you go priming, painting, bolting etc. (hence your frustration). get some shorter cables or if you want to clean it up really nice run the cables internally, move your speedo, get fishboy's clamp, call it a day. it wouldn't hurt to throw a pic or two up here of what you're dealing with up here so we can have a look see. good luck and post a pic of that bike man.
for the welcome. Im trying to work out an issue with this d@mn vista compatibility and my digital camera. I like it with the drag bars. Feels kinda funny, since im used to those stock bars. Fixed the wiring issue, but... when I moved the clutch cable, there's apparently some extra tension in the line, not letting it completely disengage. I'm just going to adjust the cable and be done with it.
Since you've gone to shorter bars, it would be highly advisable to get a shorter clutch cable and brake lines. I doubt your clutch cable will adjust properly with it being to long.
