I need some opinions, I found a '09 Nightster for sale locally, it only has 320 miles on it, no problems whatsoever he just needs to sell it, all stock and after some bargaining got him down to $8,400. The dealership told me I'd be right around 10K for a new one, I'm guessing that's without taxes and everything else, worth it to buy the used one or is there some reason I'm not thinking of that's better to buy the new one?
I've been checking prices for a couple of weeks myself. Bikes on ebay with 300 or less miles go for $7k.
Right now there are over 50 completed actions for Nightsters. The ones that have sold ( only 2 ? ) are the 300 miles and less bikes for ~$7k. People bid up to ~$6.5k for the avg. bike. I don't have a clue why people list bikes for $8.5k and UP.
IMHO the people telling you that's a good is only because they paid more.
Be patient. The so-called "bad economy" is your friend. These sellers will panic and sell at ~ $6.5k. Just give them some time to sweat. My $.02 .
