Rubber Mounted or Solid Mounted

Occurs to me, that they're all rubber mounted, if you count the tires.

I think having the motor mounted in rubber would only help the motor shake more.

Everything vibrates. Just different frequencies and multiples of (harmonics).

I ride my rigid mount all over with no probs, never ridden a rubber mounted sporty. I can tell you your woman will squeeze you tighter with her legs on the solid mount though

I wouldn't even think of a rubber mount. Rode one a long distance and every bone in my body rattled. There is a reason H-D changed to a rubber-mounted engine.

I rode an earlier solid-mount and in short order my hands and feet tingled from the vibs and I was beginning to think I needed new glasses trying to look at the rear view mirror. So I didn't buy a Sportster. Then I tried out the '04 (rubber-mount) and bought one.

many fixes for vibration grips, pegs, fill your bars with foam, gell seats, and the list goes on find the bike you like for your price range and go for it i wouldnt let the engine mount be the deciding factor

Owned both (91 and 07) and liked the rubber mount better, especially on long trips.

That said, I would like to find clean solid mount EVO as a project bike.

I have an 02 883 and an 08 nightster... the solid mount 02 makes my hands and feet numb after a while, even with Iso Pegs and grips... I don't notice any numbness on my nightster at all with stock grips and pegs.

I have 2 solid mounts and have never gotten what everyone is complaning about as far as vibration, if ride like a maniac or if you try and ride a Sporty at internet speeds yes you are going to get vibration, but just cruising at 55-60 there's no problem, I've ridden a couple of differant rubber mounts and don't see that much differance but then again I don't ride like a maniac.
