Default Changing Grips

I'm thinking of putting the HD Aileron grips on my 1200C. Anybody else have experience with them on your Sportster? I'm wondering if going to the slightly larger diameter of grips (over the sportster size grips) will impede the clutch lever action. Do you think the larger diameter grips look out of proportion? I guess I'm a little hesitant to take the step.

I bought my Custom with them already on, along with matching pegs, etc. They don't seem large at all and certainly don't interfere with the levers. The rubber isn't at all soft, so you don't get a lot of "cushion" affect, if that's what you're looking for. But they look nice.

I put on larger diameter grips also and was worried about that. It was the opposite. Not only did the bike look better with the larger grips, but they were more comfortable and I don't have big hands by any stretch. No problem with pulling the lever either.

Just as a warning. I have seen the quality of HD grips slipping. I originally bought skull grips from HD, but right out of the box they were made of light plastic and had two small chrome chips. Considering the msrp on these is like $75 (more than a lot of aftermarket ones) I returned them and got some ISO grips. The ISO grips are much better constructed, better looking IMO, and much more comfortable. The only thing I don't like about them is having to glue on the left grip.

I have the Skull Series grips. Even though they are not as heavy duty as the rest of the grips, I really do like them. Since I have almost everything from the skull series, they tie into the bike really nice.
