Anyone know if this is possible? I did a search and found one person who claimed they did it. Can anyone confirm and tell me if there is a trick to freeing up more slack in the cables?
I think it would depend on the type of bars that are on there now and possibly the risers. If it has the same basic size of bar there is a little bit of extra wireing. only about 2-3 inches. My bike had the Buck horn style pull back i think they were 10 inch tall I liked the highth and but i didnt like the angle my hands were at. I put on the 10 inch mini apes and just that differant angle of the handle bar i needed to remove the headlight to get the extra wire out. and there was enough there to do the swap.I would not of been able to go from a drag style bar to the mini apes no way.Unless of course they are mounted on 10 inch risers. then it might work.
If you are reffering to the Pull Back Handle Bars HD makes for the Sporty "YES" all the cables fit, wires to. But You need a longer fron brake line.
I did the change, then latter on changed to Mini Apes. [2004 1200 Custom]
Slack in the cables, Yes ! Take the shortest route. [ usually means take them out from between the forks]
See the Pic with the short bars. That is the pull back set. Notice Cables are outside of the forks.
The other pic is with Mini Apes from HD
