I *like* my nightster. I wouldn't say I love it. It looks cool and has tons of torque but rides like ****. I will probably keep it until next spring and sell it for another harley product - A used MV Agusta F4 1000
It's the coolest scoot on the road. Not supposed to be smooth. You want smooth... Get a softail. You want : raw, tough, quick, agile... Then the nightster is the bike for you. Crazy not to love it IMO
1. It's a freakin HARLEY!
2. It's a got good size motor for the bike.
3. It has that bobber look for a bad boy
4. It's a mid size bike where you don't have trouble splitting lanes
5. My nightsters looks badass!!!
6. AND last but not least...it's a freakin HARLEY!!!

I love mine because of the old school look. Mini apes, satin green/black, and soon I'll have a pair of V&H short shots wrapped and put on. I'll have the whole stage one done in a couple weeks so it'll look "ratty" and have a little more getup and go. Not to mention, I rode mine for almost two hundred miles the other day and could have ridden two hundred more! Lot more comfortable than my 900RR.
I love my Nightster because... I MEAN LOOK AT IT! What is there not to love about the Nightster? Plus it's already a REALLY good base to start your custom work off of.
