Height is probably a bigger concern than weight. I'm just under 5' 11" and i feel cramped with mid mount controls especially on a 883 low. My 883 Custom's forward controls are perfect for my heaight but still may be cramped for you. Borrow one for an hour or so ride and you'll find out. Power is more than adequate for 200 lbs as me and my wife tour all over (190 + 120 lbs fully geared up + lots of luggage also) and have no complaints.
I have an 883 2007. Full stage 1, and a few extras. I'm only 160 at best, but the bike pulls like a race horse! The gears on this bike are like a dirt bike. I go through 5 gears in no time at all. This is not a bike for the long slab. Look into a 1200. They have higher gears. I would go with a 1200. Hit it back, let us know, HOLLYWOOD
My son is 6'5" and 240. He chose a 883 and he did fine with it. He did several 400 mile trips with it until an old lady in a new Buick Park Avenue turned left in front of him. The bike was totaled and he came out with minor injuries.
So, unless you are bigger tan that you should be okay.
I am 6'2 and over 260 lbs. My 883 is fine for me. It will take my fat **** up to over 100 mph (I have done it). It isn't the speediest thing around, but I love it and it says HARLEY on the side.
As everyone has said the 883 has plenty of power. I love mine and I'm a big guy.
If all you can afford is the 883 than get it and ride it like you stole it. If you feel its lacking in power, do the 1200 conversion down the road when you have some more money.
