Hello to all! I apologize if this has been asked before. I have a 2009 XL1200C with a medium low detachable sissy bar. I want to get a luggage rack that works but don't really like the 4-bar tapered one. I want to spend around $120 for one. Any suggestions?
All of them are pretty useless in size to support anything. I've got the 4 bar tapered.
What I use to further support my tourbag that has a soft bottom is a piece of 1/4" ply cut to the size of the bags base. Future plans are to cut a larger piece of 1/4" sheet stock alum. or starboard marine poly and bolt it to the luggage rack giving it 3 times the width and twice the depth and drill holes in it for fastening bungee cords. Large cutting boards found at Walmart work well too bolted onto the rack increasing its size.

I talked to one of the parts guys at my local HD today and he showed me the tapered one on a Sportster. It looked ok, but the five bar one looks like it might stick a bit over the fender sides......yes or no.
