Haulen *** backrest. They are a site sponsor. Their rest is much cleaner and looks better than the Harley rests. It comes with a Harley pad that matches your seat.
There are pics of mine in my profile gallery, and I posted a review not long ago. I'm too lazy to find it for you at the moment.
Thanks for the info. I like the look of that backpad a lot.
Did you get the 2.5" or the 3.5" version?
I see they offer a choice of heights now. No options when I ordered mine. The seat is a Sidekick. I would guess the 3.5" would be what I would order today if I had to do it again. The 2.5" would maybe be better with a thinner seat like the Badlander.
That Haulen *** backrest has no sideplates, which is nice for the minimalist.
I went with the HD detachable, with a medium-low backrest w/pad. Bought it from a forum member through the classifieds here and saved a bundle for a flawless used backrest with hardware.
Since I use it for passengers and for strapping stuff to, I like that design over the Haulen *** type. The HD backrests also give you the option of mounting a rack on the back of it, which I plan to do for a road trip.
It's plenty sturdy, very heavy-duty, looks good, IMO, and is just the right height, according to my passengers. It's also tall enough to bungee 2 six-packs stacked one on top of the other.
