Took the sporty on the interstate the other day...It seems teribly unstable at interstate speeds, and wind. I dont have a windshield currently but could this possibly take car of some of my problem? I thought the wind might be catching me and kinda throwin me and the bike around...ideas? thoughts?
windshield might help with fatiegue and focus, i don't think it will reall cut down on being tossed around though. was it the 08 in yr sig? i used to ride a 02 or 01 883 and that thing would toss me like crazy on the highway in the wind. my 04 1200 (rubber mount) is much better.
on that note, i road my buddies fat boy tonight and man i didn't realize how solid his bike was, i really think its a BT thing. the fatty really just grabed the ground and hung in there.
then again my sporty is probley the worst for a stability thread big apes, jockey shift, struts, and a small *** seat my bike sucks lol
I was on a 2 hour ride a couple weekends ago. 1/2 that was in head winds. Gusty and I was all over the road on my 1200c. Not much you can do with a 500 lb bike.
It is a sporty here. We are not talking a tank. Don't really care what year or model wind will be a bitch Windshields can actually be a detriment, depending on the speed and direction compared to yours. Steady ain't too bad but gusts are a pain. We have had a lot of strong gusty winds here this spring so my sporty has not been ridden that much. FXDL is easier on me in the wind so I ride it. Hope it stops soon, the sporty is getting jealous.
