Default Screaming Eage intake???

Can I just install a Screaming Eagle FIPK, or do I also need a tune? I have seen quite a few around, V and H, Power commander, can i do the tuning myself with these kits, or does it have to be on a dyno???

dunno i got a carb model but i'll tell you dont waste your $$$ on a screamin eagle intake they're basically your stock one re-packaged, there is so many intakes in the same price range that'll actually make a difference like the velocity stacks, big suckers and on an on. if your trying to get more outta your sportster engine go to the buell forum website they got the most advanced sportster engine knowledge around cuz they use a sportster engine souped up to run with crotch rockets. good luck bro

If you install the screamn eagle "heavy breather" you will either need a tune on FI motor or change jets on a carb.

1slo6 all the buell 1200s use a sportster engine everything and really just come OEM hotrodded out to run with crotch rockets. the XR1200 uses a buell clone motor (lighter flywheel, etc, etc) and all the sportster advances (heads, cams, flywheel, etc) are all copycats off of buell years after buell had been running them. the 1200s from buell share parts the same way a camaro and a firebird does. the SE intake is a scam bro, if you want a "HEAVY BREATHER" look at a big sucker or velocity stack. for true sportster performance tips your on the wrong site bro, try the buell forums website or xlforum.net. i strongly suggest pickin the buell guys brains cuz u see what they were doing 3-4yrs ago being done on the rest of the harley family now. good luck an have fun

Didn't know you could put a heavy breather on a carbed model. At least not my 99. Never saw it in the book or online

if your selling any intake system you can slap "HEAVY BREATHER" on it cuz its a catch phrase that sounds cool n like it means something important. SE makes decent heads, cams n clutch parts but only re-packages alot of stock shiit, slaps a logo on it, tags it with some cool catch phrases to double the price of excess stock shiit they're stuck with. which is the case with the SE intake, SE pipes, SE slipons an all the cosmetic CRAP.
