I no its been asked before, but I ,d like to get it right the first time ???
Looking for more rumble out of my Sportster so I,m looking at a new exhaust system .
Vance & Hines look great and I heard the quality is as good .
I want a louder exhaust and looking pritty hard at the Vance & Hines Short Shots staggered .
Keep in mind once in a while my wife will be riding with me , so I dont want to make her def in one ear .
Anyone have a sportster that has installed these .
Are they to loud ??? For a passenger ??
Should I be looking at side shots or ????
I went to the sight and played the sound but they dont have a video of the short shots staggered .
Any one install a new jet kit there self. I,m mechanicly inclined but havent tried a bike carb kit.
P.S. not sure if the Screaming Eagles would be enough bang for the buck ..
Thanks for any ideas............[8D]
A friend of mine has the screamin eagle slip ons....sound ok. I went with the sideshots and they are certainly loud. The look of the staggered is very nice.....it depends on what turns your crank.
I recently installed a set of Vance & Hines Straight Shots (#16809) on my '96 XL-1200C and they sound great. The bike (used) came with a set of drag pipes (Cycle Shacks, I think) that were looking bad. If you stay out of the throttle, they aren't too loud.
My wife says "If you paid $350 for those pipes because the old ones were too loud, you got ripped off.
LOL.
Look at it this way, if you get tired of listening to the passenger, just hit the throttle.
