Default Bar install questions

Hey, so i have searched this entire forum and the internet, and cannot find a "good" tutorial for installing bars on my bike. I bought a set of drags for my '06 custom, and the first problem that i have run into is the clutch housing. I removed all three torx bits, and the lever/turn signal came off, but the housing won't budge, it will only spin on the bars. How do i move the housing out of the way, so that i can loosen and removal the stock rubber grip? before someone tells me to just cut the stupid grip off, i plan on using it on the new set of bars, so i wish to keep them in one piece. Thanks for the help guys, i really need some help, as i'm doing the install now

I think there are 4 bolts for the housing. As far as the grip, a little wd-40 and a small flathead and you should be able to work it off. To put it back on, clean it out and use a squirt of hairspray.

2-screws for clutch handle then 2- screws for housing and a little spray for hand grip removal

guys- thanks so much for the quick responses and the help. Upon further review, i did find the fourth screw, and unbolted both housings, grips, throttle tube, etc. I was able to install the drags, and the entire right side assembly to the bars, but i'm still scratching my head as to how i will re-install that rubber grip. After that, ill be sure to take pics and post them on the forum for you guys to see.

Thanks again for the help and quick replies

Just spray some hairspray into the grip and slide it on quick. It will act as a lubricant and when it dries it acts as an adhesive.(kinda) You can also use spraypaint but it does make a mess. I have never used spraypaint on my street bike but have used it many times on various dirt bikes.

Thanks man, i went with the hairspray. I fought with the grip for about 20 minutes to get it off, and after a little bit of hairspray, it slid right on the new set of bars! My turn signal relocation kit should be coming in this week, and ill put those on, flip the mirrors, and take pics for you guys.

Thanks again for the help
