I'm wondering how hot one should be riding around in Dallas in this 100 degree weather?
I have been riding back and forth to work and I know it's going to be HOT but, I've caught myself a few times thinking the bike seems awefully hot and I don't know that I would know how to tell if I were overheating? Any general rule of thumb? is there a trick to checking engine temp w/o a temp guage being installed? If so how hot should it be?
103 today in OKC. I'd watch that temp man, I know how that traffic is in Dallas. Can you lane split down there?
And we're just getting started!
To be honest I don't know if lane splitting is legal or not... Everything I've seen says something like "not mentioned in TX law" or something like that. I see guys (seems mostly like crotch rockets) do it all the time.
I ride about 10mi each way and don't have to get on any hwy's. So I don't have to worry about that... I don't want any part of those hwy's at rush hour... That's just askin' to die!
If she isn't cuttin out on ya then you're alright, she'll let you know if she's too hot. I'd recommend an oil cooler, it gets above 110 here in the summer and it does wonders for my scoot, anything above 100 deg. I recommend getting one, it's cheap insurance and peace of mind.
