Talking How Hot Is Too Hot?

Man, do I love to ride... and I'll ride in just about any climate but today I rode by a bank here in N.E. Florida and saw 110 degrees at 3:45 pm!!!

Still fun though. You'll never hear me bitchin'

All of the bank thermometer that I've seen were exposed to direct sun light giving false readings. The couple of banks around here are usually about 3 to 5 degrees hotter than it really is.

Thanks for the observation. Now I'll go shoot myself in the face because the bank thermo isn't very acurate....?

Oh sure, and the heat on the asphalt isn't real either. If I shot the pavement with a laser thermometer, bet the tolerance on that would be questionable too??

What was I thinking? :-/

As long as I don't have to stop it would be ok. I rode a couple of times so far this season with temps just over 100, pretty sure at that point unless it's a lot more it won't feel that much different. Plus the humidity was pretty high as well, but as long as I don't have to sit in traffic I don't mind too much.

Thats way to hot for me, even if the reading may not be 100% accurate.

I rode in 104 temp a couple weeks ago coming home from work. It was very hot. At slow speed all you felt was hot air blowing on you like a hair dryer!

Yep no doubt on the temp being hot. Still won't keep me from riding though

When I lived in Yuma AZ, I rode all the time in 100+ weather. I just got use to it I guess.

I just recently started riding again and have rode several times already in the upper 90's and I guess it does not bother me because I am still so excited about being back on a bike. Although a couple of weeks ago I got stuck in a bad traffic jam when it was 98* and damn that was miserable.

I do dress for it though if I can. I wear a armored mesh jacket if I am going to be on the Hwy and I wear a dryfit shirt under that and dryfit boxers and that keeps me pretty comfy.
