realization
So the ol'lady and I took a 200 mile day trip on the bagger Sunday. It was a nice trip and turned out to be very enjoyable.
When we got home I decided to pull the Sportster out of the garage and give it a work out.
Damn if that thing didn't suprise the **** outta me!
So my realization is "you tend to take for granted how quick n nimble the Sportster is until you ride something different (like a bagger) for a couple of days.

thanks cHarley! They both have their benefits and shortcomings. That's why having one of each IMO is having the best of both worlds.
My girls father has heritage softail, now even though its not a dresser, it feels huge, I actually really enjoy riding it for a while, just so I can jump back on the sporty and whip around

It is for this reason I won't be getting a bigger bike any time in the near future. I love my bike. People tell me I should get something bigger because my bike is small. I tell them I don't care what you think I'll ride what I like.
I just picked up my '09 Heritage tonight. I do a lot of mileage and the Sportster was killing me on the long rides, but there's nothing like it for just plain fun. Unfortunately I can't afford to have two bikes and I'm going to have to put the Sporty up for sale as soon as H-D sends me the title. I'm really gonna miss it. Of course, I could get lucky and maybe it wont sell...

But I bet that 200 miles on the bagger was a smooth **** ride.
