I know they come with a 150/80B16 factory, but can you clear a 160 without any modification or not? Also do you know where to find a 160 tire for around 100 bucks?

A 160 Metzler 880 or Avon Venom will fit without modification. Both have a slightly taller profile, so if the bike has been lowered at all it may rub the underside of the fender.

BUT, ya won't find them for $100.00

You can't just go by size alone, as the same size tire can vary in width and height between different brands.

For example;

The 'stock' Dunlop D401 150/80B16 has a width of 6.15" and height of 24.45".

The lower cost bias ply Dunlop D404 150/80-16 is narrower and not quite as tall as the same size D401.

You really need to get detail specifications of a specific tire, because size alone isn't enough to determine actual width.

Sure..I have a 160 I will sell you for $99.99...currently it is being used by my Great Niece and Nephew as a tire swing....shouldnt be too difficult to 'boot' the 1/2" holes in it.......seriously though...pay $100 for a tire and guess what you get......give up?...you get a cheap assed tire...good luck...

Just in case this helps....I installed an 18" rear chrome wheel with a 160 Metzeler on my '05 Sportster. No mods needed to be made at all as it fit right in with the stock spacers. I did this with the help of Hogpro, whom I purchased my wheels from. Check out the pics on the photobucket link below.

What 18" wheel should I look for that will work on a sportster? Since its an 05 with the 1" axle I should have quite a few wheels to choose from should I? Is the tire cheaper for an 18" rim?
