looks good to me man, i have thought about doin that to my lowers for a while but then thought maybe the MOCO put clear on them for a reason? could sanding the clear off them shorten the life?
Unfortunately its one of those things that only time will tell.
The lowers look good.
Thanks xFreebirdx,
Yea, I love the sound of pipes and liked the idea of not having Short Shots like EVERYBODY else! But, I'm pretty sure since I've put the baffles in that I have heard them rattlin' when I get on the throttle or sometimes when I let off... I just heard it so we'll see what happens, plan on looking them over before I ride next.

do ya need to take yr front whell off to do it?
old skool,
All the $hit you've done to ur bike n' ur worried about losing some CLEAR COAT!?!?
I would reccomend taking off the front wheel, you might manage w/o but, it will make it way easier. It was real easy to take off and put back on. I started with scotch brite and 400grit (couldn't really tell which was working best, I may start with like 200 if I had to do it again) then went to 800/100/1500/2000 then used Mothers Mag polish to get the shine on. I spent about 1-1.5hrs per leg.
I'm not a big drinker so that included "smoke" breaks!

The pipes look great man and I tried to get a set of them back when they were 75% off, but could never get ahold of Hooker so I gave up. Your bike is comming along nicely.
Old_Skool, to answer your question, the clear is basically just there to prevent them from dulling any, though the polished looks good, anyone who does it will have to polish them every once in a while to maintain the shine.
