I have an '06 Sporty 1200XLC with forward controls. I am looking for a way to mounts highway pegs without getting an engine guard. Does anyone know of any manufacturers of mounts/pegs that attach to the frame or any other type of configurations?
You can use clamshell clamps and attach them to the frame but I believe you will find the riding position uncomfortable. I know you don't want to, but I'd suggest getting an engine guard and mounting them on the guard.
If you do a search, you should find a thread that shows exactly what you're looking for, frame-mounted highway pegs - pictures and all with a website for getting them. As I remember, they were also reasonably priced. I wish I had bookmaked that thread, but sorry, I didn't. It's in here some where - good luck!
I put those on order from Surdyke for my wife. Got them for $145.
She likes the mid-controls but I know its only a matter of time before she starts wanting to stretch her legs. Besides. I ride her bike a lot too. [sm=grin.gif]SShhhhh!!!!! And I like my forward controls. She'll notice if I change hers so this is the next best thing.
