Sound
I got my buddy to grab me front muff off an 05 sportry he worked on the other day and got the baffle out and boy am i lovin the sound. Was thinkin about gettin jug huggers but not sure how they sound and for now i am VERY sattisfied.
We compared "exhaust tone" on a bunch of them, and I'd hate to imagine how many aftermarket pipe combinations were installed on various bikes.
A lot of the guys were surprised with the tone of my '05 1200C. Very deep sounding, and it has a nice "bark" during hard acceleration. Not tinny sounding like many of the exhaust systems.
All we did with my stock pipes was to open them up by removing (not just drilling) the mufflers/restrictions. Right now they are open pipes, but we did leave the crossover pipe in place to balance out the exhaust flow.
After comparing them with other bikes yesterday I'm keeping them, heck with the aftermarket stuff. The "open" stock pipes perform just as well and sound better than most aftermarket systems, so there isn't point on spending $400 to $600 for something else.

Looking at your pictures, I don't see a crossover pipe. Are the newer bikes different? I have an older one.
