My local dealer had a demo day last saturday. I rode a used 08 road king that was really nice to ride. Good handling and smooth riding. Previous owner chromed it out and only put 543 miles on it before he had to get rid of it.
I did a demo day a few months back. Funny, I appreciated how quick and nimble the Nighster felt after riding the BT's. I did enjoy the Muscle though...for me, it was actually more comfortable than I thought it would be.
A couple of weeks ago my wife and I rented a SoftTail Deluxe. She was considering trading in the sportster and renting was the best way to really get a good feel of the bike. We had it for 24 hours and between the 2 of us we put 250 miles on it.
My impression was it was a much smoother ride than the sportster at normal riding speeds. At low speeds it was horrible, I just couldn't get it to feel balanced. I also had some fun with it when I pushed it in a corner, it hung in there pretty good but I found I was scraping the foot rests very easily.
My wife really liked it. So I think we might get one, just not now.
