need help on engine swap!
I have a 87 883cc (1200 kit) bike that I bought a 03 engine for. the new motor is a 883 and I planned on changing the top ends and using the 03 motor so I would have a 1200cc belt drive 5 speed rather than the chain drive 4 speed thats on there now.
does anyone have a list of parts that I would need or know where to start?
motor mounts?
ignition?
rear wheel and or swing arm?
etc
any help is greatly appreciated.

I would think you need a manual for both the 03 and the 87 sportster. I'm sure some of the parts are interchangeable and you ought to be able to make a lot of the wiring harness to work. I don't think the swing arm and rear wheel are the same just because of the chain drive to belt drive thing. Interesting project though.
