Default Longer Shift Lever

Was looking through some mags, and couldn't find anything. I was wondering if anyone knows of a company that makes a lever for forward controls that is LONGER than the one that comes stock with the kit. I find myself having to totally move my foot in order to shift up...and sometimes w/my big feet i'll miss going fully into gear (especially from 1-n-2), and it's really annnoying to give it gas and let the clutch out, and still be in neutral!

If anyone has any suggestions, or places to look, it would be greatly appreciated.

Marc

Try denniskirk.com or Harlan Ness. Ness would have it.

Probably would be easy to have one built,...just take the stock one to a machine shop,...and tell them what you want. I deal with fab shops all the time,...shouldnt cost much.

Have you tried adjusting the shift lever on it's splines to give you better position?

didn't know it had splines...i'll take a look at it tomorrow. It has the bracket for the linkage built to the piece...so i'm not sure if it can be moved @ all...

My shifter doesn't have splines, the whole piece is one solid piece. I'm going to try to talk to a guy that I know can custom fab parts. I basically need another 2 inches for it to fit me comfortably. No one else has run into this problem?

you can adjust the height if the lever itself, the rod has "ball jointed tie rod ends". take it loose from the foot control and lengten or shorten it to adjust the height it rest over the footpeg.

Loosen the nuts at both ends of the center shaft going from the pedal to the engine. Turn the denter shaft one way and the pedal will go up. Turn it the other way and the pedal will go down. Get it where you want and tighten up both nuts.

Messsed around w/the linkage, and bingo bango...no need for a modified shift lever! I would have thought that by tilting the lever closer to me it would put the upper gears too far back, but that wasn't the case.

Thanx for the suggestions guys!
