Heck, I'd 'just change the gaskets and forget about it then.
Use quality oem gaskets and follow the torque spec and torque sequence.
I have gone many years without leak problems, using the proper torque rules.
Winter is near. Good project for you, if you are handy at all with a wrench.
If not, make friends with someone who is. Not that bad of a project.
I have no clue what a shop would charge, but personally I would consider it a fun winter Saturday in the garage with a few beers and a football game on the TV.
I'd do the upper and lower Rocker Box gaskets.
Meanwhile I'd be fighting the urge do do bigger cam etc! LOL
i looked at the bill that my dealer turned in for the gasket job to the moco. Since i had both gaskets replaced at different times, im just gonna add up the shop times. 2 hours total. shop time varies depending on the dealer. usually 75$-105$ an hour.
The stealer win again, took bike to the dealer<Pompano Beach, FL> last Tuesday to change the Gasket in the rocker box, pick it up this morning, almost die when I saw the Bill $311 bucks MF..freaking unbelievable, plus I got in a big argue, now the check engine light is on, when I left the bike on Tuesday morning was fine, now I got this shttt, Spoke with the manager, they state that they did nothing else to the bike, I told her How in the hell I got the freaking engine light on, there is no win with this MF, Now I got the engine light on, and want more money to check this out, FL them I going to the local shop from now on..
If any sort of code was stored the check engine light will come on right after startup for a few seconds for the next 50 starts. Does it stay on or is it just a few seconds after the bike is started?
Yes, first at all thanks again guys, for ur help in this ****, Yesterday i went to a local Shop in West Palm Beach Area <A1 Cycle> the guys there hook up the scanner and found out that the Engine Temp Sensor is out, they do that at no charge, That is freaking awesome, nothing like a good local shop.
The bike still have the engine light on forever, but the guy in A1 Cycle told me that I can ride the bike with no problem, but like to solve this ASAP..Call the stealer, sensor $54 bucks, that sucks more money to spend in this **** !!
