This morning, was warming the bike for a ride when i noticed to oil leak from each side of the head of the engine Cylinder heads.Put the bike back in the garage and take this pictures, for better understanding. I know you guys have more mechanical skill than me. Please help me on this. Thanks in advance.
I think it's more to it then them gaskets. Me thinks there is a crankcase pressure issue goin' on. Had the bike sat a long time prior to starting it? (sump full of oil?)
If i remember correctly there was a tech service bulletin sent out by the moco concerning bad rocker cover gaskets on 07's. I would contact your dealer and check that out. IMO they should replace them for free. I would let the dealer look at the bke and i wouldnt ride it. Check with cHarley
That's not a head gasket problem !!!!!!! it's a rocker box gasket problem.
Take a closer look and see if it's a blown out paper gasket between the top of the head and the lower rocker box. Also check the cover bolts, are they tight too, if so it's time for metal rocker box gaskets.
Based on the "assumption" that you look at your bike a lot, I am "assuming" that this situation suddenly appeared.
Leaky gaskets, both rockers at the same time? Seems very unlikely that they would both decide to become leaky at the same time, without another issue such as heavy crankcase pressure to force the oil past them. Not tryin' to shake you up, but I would be looking deeper than those gaskets. That is one he11 of a lot of oil coming out of them! Not routine seepage at all.
Edit: Disregard this theory if there is a chance that this oil had plenty of time to accumulate without being noticed.
Go for the gasket change and forget about it.
