yes i just bought a new Harley 883n and was told by the service departmant this bike has a death wobble at 90 what im wondering is has anyone else experienced this and if it exist what can be done to the steering to fix it?
Someone in the service department told you your bike has a deadly wobble to it and they couldn't tell you why. Worse of all you didn't make them tell you why.
didnt find out till i left they were loading up my bike and told my brothers while loading it and they didnt bother to tell me till we where riding the next day
Sorry, but if it is a new bike, I first would have smacked the Bro's in the back of the head........Then I would have been riding straight back over to that dealer, grabbed the salesman & store manager by the nuts, dragged them to the service department by said nuts, then kicked the service manager in his nuts, and demanded for an explaination as to why they would release a bike with said wobble and stand there to watch them correct the issue. Also, have your brothers there as witnesses to point out which guy said what when they were loading the bike. But that's just my .

You should see me when I get really upset/mad. But first off, my BRO's, (related or just friends), wouldn't have let the bike get released/loaded after hearing it has a death wobble.....They would have been grabbing that guy by the neck dragging him back to me & the salesguy/manager already.
Was he just speaking about sportsters in general being unstable at high speeds? That is how it sounded to me.... I hit 90-100 MPH occasionally but it doesn't feel comfortable to me. I think that is what he was trying to say.
The service guy needs to explain exactly what he meant in front of his manager and the salesman who sold you the bike. Although it's probably too late, he'll backpedal or qualify the statement in the classic "CYA" move.
80 was fast enough for me any way.......but that's just me. If I'd need to pass somebody at 90, I'd think about whether or not I really needed around that person in the first place. (my old sportster might rattle apart at that speed.....)
