Thanks guys, the brace is getting painted Black to match Forks....the reason I made it was just to replace the little sturdiness I took off when I removed the Fender. I know its probally not hardly any difference it just eased my mind. If you flip over the stock fender its exactly like these pieces I made for it.....I just kept thinkin of riding down the highway at 80 and bamn something happens to the Forks and I pull a Superman off the front lol So they are stayin as just a replacement of the tiny Fender strength but are getting painted black. The electric tape as well has been takin off and used a couple ties to hold the wires under the tank....
Keep up the good work...pretty much doing similar stuff type mods...
IMHO I would definitely loose the homemade fork braces...I do not see those doing anything at all unless it is more for looks to fill the empty void...
you would be better off cutting down a stock fender to leave the middle support area of the orginal fender or getting a superbrace (just put one on and damnnnnnnnnnnn!!!)...
Ok guys, finally got some new and better pics. The Ignition is still hangin cause I don't know exactly where I'm puttin it yet. The tape was removed from the Tank lift (It was there holdin wires up till I got straps) and the Brackets that nobody liked but me lol were painted to match the Forks. I also painted the rear Red reflectors to hide them a little better. Well here they are and one of my Magnum so ya'll know what my Sig means lol
I get what you're trying to do with the fork brace.Back in the 60s and 70s allot of bikes had those wrap around style fork braces they were basically fender mounting brackets without the fender. And with the narrow skinny forks they had back in the day they were totally necessary. When I first got my Bob I wanted something like that but nobody makes em anymore. I even went so far as to seperate the mounting bracket from the fender but it just didn't look right. Anyway, it looks much better blacked out maybe split the difference and cut your front fender way down or "bob" it and slap it back on that's what I ended up doing.
Sorry, but that "brace" has to go. Those two little strips of metal won't do anything except
make your bike look cheesy. Want support? Get a Superbrace! Expensive? Yes! Does it work? Absolutely! Sportys should have these things from the factory!! (My $.02)
Bike looks good but I just don't get the tank lift thing and the belt guard removal.
Well really why I did the tank lift is cause I'm over 6'2'' so I looked like Donkey Kong on the bike since its really low profile. So I lifted the Tank up 2 1/4" to give it a higher rake look to match my body build better....theres more a reason behind it then just for looks
