Default My bars

For my birthday in Septemberr, my siblings and girlfriend bought me the Alloy Art 17" Apes. I bought the 3" risers and got my cables and whatnot from Hill Country Customs and they were recommended from multiple people on this site. (thanks) So here are some pictures of the process...

Taking the original bars off... don't hate on the pink towel!

Bars on the bike and working on relocating the coil pack and ignition and hiding the wires...

Ohhhh the derby cover.... what a PITA!!!!! I was able to get out ONE of the six bolts. the other 5, we dremeled them and chiseled them. the torx bolts have been replaced w/ hex.

Running the wires internally was another PITA!!! But I love that clean look a lot more! And this is the bike just about done...

I really like the looks of the raised tank and that nest of wires gone. Next on the list is to get rid of that fugly seat. I HATE that thing. Get a sping seat and take off the rear shocks and put on some solid strut ones. I absolutely love the look of the exposed fender. Soooo happy to see the sissy bar and the fugly luggage rack gone!

I did all the work myself with the help of my Pop, brother, and my buddy Tyrel! It was a lot of fun to tear into my bike and learn a bit about it. This bike being my first one and all.

Thanks.

The speedo was at first zip tied to the risers.

until I got this in the mail:

If have yet to do anything with the idiot lights though. I have been thinking about getting rid of them all together.

That bracket is attached to the upper fork brace or whatever you call it. With a little dremel action and drilling, it fit no problem.
