Default shifting and accelerating

Have a 2003 Anniversary xl1200 custom with about 1000 miles on it.

Shifting thru the gears I don't get a fast throttle response. I am running the RPM's between 3000 and 3500 before shifting. When I hit 3rd it almost wants to bog down when I throttle.

Actually feels like I have a restrictor plate or something.

It goes thru the gears ok but is this something that will end with more miles on the bike?

I want to XLR8

Your lugging it way too low, a Sportster engine really gets pulling hard above 4000 all the way up to red line, I shift at 3500 when im taking it easy and never before 3000.

If you mean 1000 miles it probably needs the crap blown out of it! Gas has to be old!

Your Sporty LIKES high RPM's. wind her out thru the gears. She will vibrate and make lots of noises, but thrust me, she likes it.

Let your *** tell you when to upshift....You will know.....she will tug your nuts hard, then she'll kinda ease up if you continue to wind her out....that's when you learn to listen and feel and upshift just before that point where she runs out of tug.

Sportys LIKE hight rpms. Don't be skeered. Twist her up tight and yank her hair hard and hang on while you spank her.

Treat her like a bitch who just pissed you off and bitch slap her hard.......Trust me, it's legal and not yet politicly incorrect to threat your Sporty like all women demand.

Think about it and apply it to the gals you encounter and it will prove itself out....they demand we yank n spank them hard but say they want a nice guy. Bless their hearts, they can't tell you what they want, but they react when you offer it in a not-so-nice way.

That's the Harley way........When they see you putter up on a Harley they expect you will TAKE them like a Harley takes you away with it's irrestible low range torque and deep stroke and thrumming vibration.

Harleys are loud and they stroke deep for a reason...They flip skirts and spread legs..........If it wasn't for that, they would be short stroking high revers like Jap bikes and simply vibrate n make girls teeth chatter....Whereas Harleys make them throb and gasp.
