I have the 07 SE slip on's on my 07 1200 and hated them-they were on the bike when i got it. I drilled out the baffles and they sounded better, but now I have the baffles out so they are just big open drag pipes and I love the sounds once the pipes are warm, but they are crazy loud. If i were you I would get Rush slip on's, Rhinheart's or a Vance & Hines set up. IMO SE mufflers suck!
I guess that's cool if you want to go deaf annoy the **** out of people with excessive volume. I on the other hand prefer the SE Street Performance mufflers because I think they sound good an have a reasonable sound level. I can't tell you how annoying it is where I live when the guys with straight pipes roll through. Just my opinion

No problem. I have the exact same mufflers you ordered. I think you will like them.

Well hear's the deal. I don't try to **** anyone off nor be disrespectful, but at the same time it's my bike and I want it to look and sound the way I like to and since I pay for it then it's going to be the way I want it. My bike is loud, but not as bad as you might think.
If you just want a mellow tone then go with the SE street slip on's and you should be just fine.
I have Reinharts on my Road King and love them. So when the wife wanted her Sporty to sound like a Harley I never even thought about anything else and ordered the Reinharts for her.
HUGE MISTAKE!!
The Reinhart slip-ons for the Sportster are NOTHING even close to the touring model mufflers except for looks. They killed the bottom end torque and the bike has a stumble off-idle. Plus they are insanely loud - way too frikkin loud. They sound like straight pipes, maybe even louder if that is possible. Top end power is better though and that is the ONLY improvement.
I ran the Reinharts less than 20 miles on three short trips and took them off. The wife listened to me go down the street, I even went easy like she would, and she said no way she was riding that crap!!
I tried to return them but the parts guy said he couldn't do it since I had installed them. He said to bring them back when his boss was working. I'm going after work today. As much money as I spend in that place, well, they could lose a good customer. I have other HD dealers I can shop at in my town.
I guess there is Craig's list and Ebay for me. So now, I'm listening to every Sportster I can hear to help decide what to buy.
