Well me and the wife got rid of the kids.So we decided it was time for a ride together for the first time other than a buzz around the block. So we set out and got gas and then had lunch. Then we left on a ride for about 50 miles. She has only had her bike for a month and dropped it and got burned she didn't let the bike get damaged because she held on.I spoke of this earlier in another post.I told her on this ride we can take our time to let her get used to riding so I will go slow. She asked me to stop so she could get the tears(from the wind)out of her eyes.I said okay and she had a smoke while we sat there(probably a little nervous on her first longer ride with me).We left on down the road and rode for awhile. We came to an intersection and I told her to lead the way home.My guess is either she caught on really fast or I was going too slow for her.Lol.We made it home safely and she is already planning tomorrows ride.I gotta love this girl.Lol.She will never sit second seat I can tell you that.
Awesome! My wife said that she doesn't want to drive her own bike (I've offered to buy her one too), but she would rather just sit on the back of mine and enjoy the ride. Every woman is different (that's for sure!). In a way, she has a good point. Plus, with two very young babies (2mo and 16mo), I don't see her getting her license any time soon. I gave her instructions on how to ride (leaning with me, etc) and she did very well her first time out. It made me realize that I needed to also adjust the shocks for 2-up riding!
So.... what kind of bikes do you and your wife each have?
I wish my wife would like to DRIVE as well as RIDE, but hell - I'm just fortunate she likes to ride, bc it's definitely in my blood!
I have an 06 XL883L in fire red pearl and she has a 02 XL883 standard in black. We logged a grand total of 75 miles together this weekend. She likes the taller seat hieght of the standard because she is 6 foot with long legs.I'm 5 ft 10 inch so she has me by a couple inches. When we first got her bike I rode it up to the local school for her to practice pulling out and turning. We had discussed this and both felt it would be best for her to practice without traffic at first until she became used to the bike.So we went for the first long ride on saturday and when we were on our way back and I pulled into the school and stopped. She said what are we doing here?I said I just wanted to ask you if you still needed some practice. She laughed her *** off because she knew I was joking.Sundays ride was a little bit further in a different type of riding. She held right up with me for the most part. She didn't back off.I don't want to push her too much just let her get different feels for the bike and what it can and can not do.We are thinking about going to the Easy Rider rodeo this weekend if we can find someone to cover the kids on sunday.Beleive it or not my ex wife said she would watch them on friday and saturday.I ordered us both saddle bags I hope the UPS truck get them here in time.
