Hi guys,

We're having unusual snowy weather here in London this year and I'm just wondering how long I can let the bike sit before I have to start worrying about the battery and putting it on a trickle charger.

I don't use a charger and have let it sit for over a month with no problems. Winter of course.

 

1. All batteries slowly discharge when they sit unused.
2. To achieve maximum life (usable years of service) from a battery, it should be kept at 100% charge.
3. "Trickle" chargers will cook a battery if left on too long.
4. A "Battery Tender" (float charger) should be used for long term battery maintenance.

 

+1 Tender.. and you should be able to pick one up cheap.. around 20 bucks at the most..
