I got a new Sears "Yellow" Jack. Which is Aluminum and Lower Clearence then the Red one. My only question is, the Red one has a Gap between the Lift Points for your Kickstand to slide between.
The Yellow one doesn't I can get the Lift under the bike but not evenly on both sides due to the Kickstand NOT letting the Lift slide all the way under. Can I Notch the Lift or what? Any Ideas?
See the Difference? The Red one has a Gap between the Lift points and the yellow one has the big silver brace goin across the end (Which hits the stand when down and up)
Personally, I have a Larin jack. This one hits the kicksatnd too. But it is easy enough to sit on the bike and jack it up that way, as the Larin has a foot pump lever. I'm not sure if you could sit on your bike and jack it up with that one though.
I got the Larin because it fits under the bike without putting the bike on blocks of wood to get enough clearance for the jack to fit under.
The yellow one has extra plates that make the platform higher (not shown in the photo). I would guess that makes it about the same height as the red one, but with the same clearance for the sidestand.
I take in your bike is lowered, I have 3 bikes and my red jack wouldn't fit under any of them anymore, I went out and bought a yellow jack but found it has a piece of junk compared to the red one so I built a short ramp out of 3 pieces of 3/4 plywood screwed together with a door that you could pull out after the bike was on it so you could roll the jack under the bike, I have used this set up for several years now and it works very well.

I cut a couple pieces of hardwood, and use them on top of the extension leaving the kickstand down. The notch is cut out for the "bumper" for the jiffy. http://s169.photobucket.com/albums/u...liftblocks.jpg

i used the red craftsmen jack on my 883L yesterday for the first time. and I didn't have any problems at all. rolled it in from the right side and we changed fork oil and put shims in the front end to stiffin it up and the bike never even moved! awsome jack! i will buy one in a couple of weeks.
