I was cleaning up the sportster today and I noticed on the front pipe heat shield that there is a crack on the lower radius close to where the forward controls should mount.
Is this something that my dealership should replace or you think they might tell me to pack it in my ****?..
I have only had the bike a week and it only has 180 miles on it so far.
The pictures are hard to see so I took a bunch in different light/flash settings so you could get an idea.
seems to me like the stealer owes you something anyway, since they talked you into buying you a bike you didn't want anyway. I would go and ask for them to replace it. If it is a crack then a rock would have left significant damage. Talk to the manager if they do not replace it. I feel they should have taken more time to make sure you were happy with the bike and could reach the floor before talking you into it.
On a previous post I think you said that the dealer took off the original footpegs on the C and put on mids. This crack is where the dealer was working. It would be reasonable to expect a dealer to fix this if he wants to keep your business.

Well, the Sales people were great. And so are the girls selling the motorclothes.. However, since I have had my bike,I have been told to stay away from their service department by numerous strangers. I was at a gas station and some guy noticed my bike and came up to talk to me. He said "If you love your bike, take it somewhere else for service"..
