Default Eliminating the speedo

Hi! I have a 2005 sporty 883 lowrider. I recently installed a drag bar. Unfortunately, the risers I got, 4" weren't my style. I want to install 8" risers but the wires for the speedometer are too short. I want to go ahead and eliminate the speedomter and the other functions. Is this an easy fix that I can do myself or do I need to bring it to a dealer?

you can relocate the speedo under the gas tank. eliminating it would also eliminate the fuel light and other idiot lights that are handy. just do a search for speedo relocating instructions

Thanks Thumper. Like Midnight said you can always relocate the speedo but if you remove it, it will not affect the start-up of the bike. I myself have been thinking about getting rid of the speedo and also the dummy lights. I'll just have to make sure to calculate the average distance I can travel before filling up every time I go riding. Soon i'll get rid of the rear turn signals so i can remove all the switched on the handlebar to keep it neat.
