Default 883L Pullback - Bars or Riser

Hey guys,

The new C&C seat on my wife's 883L is comfy for her, but sets her back a little too much. She's 5'0" with a short inseam so it's hard to get a correct fit. Local indy ordered a short riser with some pullback, but the bars were hitting the tank. We were trying to make the change without spending money on new cables.

I know now there's going to be an investment in brake, clutch, wires etc. So, I need to know the best way to get the bars BACK towards her to make up for the seating position being further back. Stock bars are about 27" wide and the MAX would be 30" wide. Riser OR bar change would be OK as long as we stay near 27" wide with the same height or a couple inches higher. Just gotta come back an inch or two without hitting the peanut tank.

Any suggestion including part numbers would be appreciated.

Check out these. My wife has them on her Sporty. they have a lot of pullback. New cables were not necessary. We only had to loosen the brake line and rotate it a bit. Her bike is so comfy. http://wild1inc.com/orderWO560.html We can get these for you at a discounted rate.

Can you post a pic? Hard to believe drag bars would come back enough.

Here is a bike I found on the forum with the same bars. They have 14.5" of pullback. That is a lot. It looks like you may need to relocate your signals to the forks too.

That looks pretty good. Anybody want to claim that pic? I'd like to see a couple more.

I know this sounds simple and possibly naive, but if it was just he change in seating that made things difficult, have you tried re-adjusting the bars? Just loosen them up and see if there is a good position for them.

Long shot I know, but sometimes we make things much more complicated than they need to be. I've certainly had a few of those "duh" moments.

Yup. I've thought about it. She has to lean forward now to make a full lock turn. Lots of folks do. But we're not talking about a drastic change, only an inch or two at most. Here's a pic of the stock setup BEFORE the new seat. She's leaning forward a bit more now.

My wife's 1200L is giving her the same issue with the new solo mustang on it. HD makes a 4" curved riser that may do the trick. I am looking at doing this to hers but can't say if it will result in cable issues.
