Default Stage 1 kits

I have a 2003 1200C. Last year I replaced the stock mufflers with a set of the older SEII slip one mufflers. Not sure on the baffle size. Now with spring coming and more ridding on the way is it worth it to get this kit done to it? I runs good with the current set up but like to know if it would make a differance with the differant pipes on? Then does this have to be put on their machine for some fine tuning or can I just install the kit and go from there?

Doing the stage one will increase your performance a little but it will not be a huge differance. If you like the performance you are getting now why not just leave it alone? if you would like to increase your performance then i suggest you do the stage one. When i did mine i changed my slip ons with Rush 2" baffles, changed the stock a/c to the Arlen Ness Big Sucker and added a PC III as my fuel management system. Did notice the a jump in performance but like i stated its not a massive amount of power. If you are just wanting to change the pipes i don't think you would have to do anything else. If you change the air cleaner you would need to get it on a dyno to get the correct air/fuel mixture so the bike is not running to lean or to rich. Both could cause problems down the road.

If you change your air cleaner and re-jet your carb, you will notice a huge change in power and sound. Well worth the investment. If you have some mechanical skills, it is easy to install your self.

I can change the air cleaner and probably re-jet the carb but doesn't that have to be put on the machine to make sure it's set up right?
