Default Helmets

Hey guys a few questions here.....Are the Non DOT helmets offering of any protection at all? Do they have any padding, just not enough to warrent the DOT sticker? If so, any suggestions? I like the 1/2

For DOT, any 1/2 that dont sit a foot off of your head giving you a rather interesting anatomical look? Thanks

Look at HJC CL-21M. IMO the least offensive of the DOT half helmets. Do you wanna look cool or live through a wreck? That's basically what you have to ask yourself.

Yes they protect your hair from blowing in the wind. I had a skid lid that cracked when I dropped it while adjusting the straps.

The ACC non-DoT half helmets pass the impact test but not the penetration test. So in theory, as long as you dont run your noggin into anything sharp when you go down you should be as safe as you would be with a DoT half.

Honestly if you are interested in protection then any non-dot is a waste of time. If you just want something there so you don't get pulled over then...

A half helmet isn't gonna do much to protect your face either. I don't wear one most of the time since texas does not make you but when I do it is a full face. Don't see much use in protecting the top of my head if I could end up smashing my face off anyway.
