I'm looking to add an exhaust on my bike after numerous times of cars not being able to hear me at their side. So now it is time...
I want to get something that is friendly to my neighborhood that i've lived in for 25 years, so something that is fairly quiet when its idle (also warming up in the morning), but loud when I'm on the road.
I'm looking at the V&H 2-1, am i going in the right route with the 2 into 1's or should they be a little split. Please offer your advice. New owner here.
I know that on some of the threads i saw someone say that vance & hines sell quite baffles so you should be good on idle but make it bark when you get on it. Hope that helps, search the thread.
Sounds like you're trying to go two different directions at the same time. You want quiet when in your driveway and loud on the road. I'm afraid you only get one or the other. Good luck with that. I couldn't possibly care any less what my neighbors think about me when I crank up the leaker at 5 am. But that's just me.
I just put on the short shots with the quiet baffles and it is about as close as you are going to get for what you are asking.
Pretty throaty and deep at idle, quite a bit louder than stock but not totally obnoxious. LOUD when you get on it on the road, but does have some smooth spots for cruising at speed.
Cars will definatley hear you, good luck
Really appreciate the input guys. I think i'm putting the order in today. Was not too familiar on the quiet baffles, but that's just the learning game. So lets do this.
Go onto youtube and search for the pipes your looking at so you can hear them before buying. It may not be perfect, since video audio varies, but it certainly showed me some of the pipes I was looking at sucked the big one.
I've got Thunderheaders and really like the sound. As long as your courteous and not blipping the throttle, MOST people understand in neighborhoods. I live in a neighborhood with alot of elderly people and I usually just coast in when returning late at night.
Yeah, I put in the order. I hope they will work. They are the picture that is posted at the top. 2 into 1 blackout. So yeah. Now for an air cleaner haha
