Default Riser bolt question...

Hey all! I just got my RSD 3" risers and as expected they did not come with any riser bolt hardware. They do however state that they are "drilled and tapped for 1/2" - 13 mounting bolts".

Now my question is, what should the length of the riser bolt be for these 3" risers? The OEM bolt hardware is obviously meant for the 1" stock risers and wouldn't work. I've found the 1/2" - 13 mounting bolts available, I'm just not sure what lenght I should get... 3"... 3.5"... or other wise?

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Yep, same deal. Went from stock risers to 4in to 6in. Used the same bolts.

Hmmm... so I guess when going to taller risers it's not recommended that longer bolts are used? Wont longer bolts help with the integrity of the longer riser?

If you really want to go with longer bolts, just stick a small dial or something up into the riser bolt hole to get a measurement on how far up in the riser is drilled & tapped, then add the thickness of the triple tree where the bolt will go through, now subtract maybe 1/4" or a little more to allow for bushing squish, and there's the length of new you can get. However, most people just re-use their OE bolts.
