Another way to say what UPSBROWN is saying is that it takes a lot of money to get a Harley to have a little HP. A lot of guys shoot for around 100HP and that takes thousands of dollars. That is thousands of dollars for 20-30 HP. You spend all those thousands of dollars and you still get smoked by a kid on a bike with an engine that is half the size. And not to mention a high horse power Harley isn't a very streetable bike especially if you put high compression together with an air cooled engine and pump gas.
I'm also diggin that new 48..as far as hp goes, I'll just do the pipe, ecu and airbox..I've had/still have go fast bikes and don't really feel the need for more power...Besides, it's fun embarrassing more powerful bikes on a twisty back road.
That said, to each his own..you do what you want to your bike..you only have to please one person..

FWIW I would not mod the 48 until 1000 miles past to insure the bike is not a lemon.
Then many good comments above. I'd agree, if big HP is wanted then the 1250 kit tuner, intake exhaust and be done with it. Else Stage 1 for a good running bike.
Just got my first Harley 2017 48. I'm looking to put on Vance and Hines short shots on it but I have never had a fuel injected bike before. Can I get some advice on the best fuel paks, where to buy and what needs to be done? I'm in Australia if that helps too.
Cheers
