Question street bob shocks

A buddy of mine just bought a Burly Slammer kit for his Street Bob. I wanted to know if I will have any trouble with mounting his old shocks on my Sporty? Also will the shocks work with my 1.75 lowering kit? I measured the shocks and they are about 2" shorter than mine. Any answers would be appriciated.

Only thing I think I remember, is the bolt that holds them on is bigger than yours, so you may have to get some kind sleeve or whatever

Thanks, the next question is will they work if I keep the 1.75" lowering kit? I am worried about what will hit if they bottom. I wont have a chance to ride the bike untill I get to Daytona next week due to 3' of snow here. I dont want to run into any trouble down there due to this.

If I remember correctly they have quite a bit of preload adjustability. In other words if they bottom out crank em up.

I just got done answering my own question. Yes they do fit, no they wont work with my current lowering kit. I did have 1 issue I was in a bit of a hurry and managed to snap the end off of one of the mounting bolts on the frame. I gave it a quick fix by welding the nut on the end of the stud (the nut would go on about 3 turns). This is a temp fix to get me through bike week I will fix it right when I get home.
