Default Broken rear wheel belt sprocket bolts

Today I was riding my stock 95 1200 when I heard a pop and the back end started fishtailing. Thought I had a flat and stopped. Tire was OK. Got down and looked, found 2 of 5 sprocket bolts were sticking out and hitting the swing arm. Pulled the stock cast wheel and found 3/4" of the 3/8" bolts broke off and fused down into the threads of the wheel hub, I could barely get the 3 good ones out. Anyone have any luck getting the broken pieces out? Anybody have a stock wheel for sale?

You should be able to get them out by soaking them with penetrating fluid and using an easy out.

You can also get a set of bolt extractors (EZ OUTS) at any hardware store. They work GREAT!!! I'm always stripping and busting bolts!!! You just drill a pilot hole in the broken bolt, hammer in the bolt extractor and wrench off. I've never tried the "grabbit", but I've heard good things.

Thanks for the tips. These bolts have been in place for 15 years but I am going to try and save this wheel. I would advise anyone with an older HD to change their rear sprocket bolts.
