The sporty sits too high, and is too small for a guy your size, It is fast, but will not provide the comfort you need.

I am new to this forum as well, but have seen (and contributed) to at least two or three very similar posts. I don't have the links handy at the moment, but do a quick search in the Sportster forum and you'll find a wealth of info to help you make a decision. I am 6'3" and ride 2UP moreso than not and don't have a problem, although I have done a couple of longer trips where I wished I had a larger bike. If you are going to ride 1UP, change the stock seat when you first get it (I chose the Sundowner and like it) and you'll be fine.
