Ok so when I took my tank, handlebars, and fenders off my bike i touched no wires or anything except the dash lights which i just extended to be long enough to go in the in tank dash.....my problem now is that when I turn the key to run my brake light turns on....but when I go to the 2nd click for headlight and running lights my brake light goes off....also the brake light doesnt work like regular when I hit the brake....could this be a bad brake light switch or something worse?...but with my luck its just something really dumb that I cant seem to find.

Did you make sure that each extended wire was isolated from one another.(individually taped or heatshrinked) where they were not touching in the repaired area?
That sounds like the problem to me....
