I'm about to replace the Stator. I'm pretty familiar with what is involved. Heck, I was damn near to the stator a couple of weeks ago when I rebuilt the clutch.
Any tips or suggestions from anybody that has done this??

The usual of course, RTFM.
Wach out for the left handed thread.
Air tools are great (required) but the sockets required are big.
The torque of one nut is 190-210 FT-LBS, yes ~200 FOOT POUNDS, this sucker is a pain to take off & put back on if you don't have air tools.
Get the hard plastic/rubber thing or the bar tool to keep the primary chain from rotating. I used the plastic thingy & it worked better than the piece of wood that the sprockets shreaded.
My info is vague because I have not done this for a year & 3 months & I'm not going to open my manual & type it out.
Thanks Stefan. I have a tool I think will hold the sprockets. And as always have RTFM. I don't have air tools, but can get them fairly easily. I'll consider doing that. Sounds like that is one tough nut to crack.
Yeah, I'm no wrench, can change the battery, but the stator on My 06 1200C went to the dealer . I think it was $340 and done that day. Next one fails and the Harley will be gone.......WVleo
