Front Tire Question

situation:

front tire leaking air, rim is laced spokes.

Question:

what are the pros & cons of putting a tube in it rather than getting a new tire?

the more people chime in the better.

If you have the stock, laced front wheel as shown in your sig pic, it should already have a tube in it. Get a new tube.

For a temporary repair you could use something like Slime to fix the leak. If you have laced spokes then you should already have an inner tube.

If tire is still good ... then replace the tube ... maybe a pin hole.

It's safe to reuse the tire, just replace the tube.

And don't forget to get a new rubber band to cover over the spokes and check to see if all the spokes are properly tensioned.....It could have been a loose spoke nut that worked through the rim liner and into the inner tube causing the leak.
